Rob, Technical Contracts Manager & Former Technician
I began my career in wind energy with Boston Energy 8 or so years ago, beginning my career onshore with the Siemens Heavy Lift team. I was then placed on annual service working my way up to MT which gave me the privilege to travel to most of the offshore UK sites. My career then led me to O&M companies such as Orsted and Vestas in roles such as Main Component Exchange AT & Project Supervisor. I enjoyed the travel and the time meeting and working with new technicians around the country and Europe.
Now, I am more office based as a Technical Contracts Manager. My role involves me looking at the customer requirements, understanding their needs and working with the Operations team to deliver a comprehensive project plan. Working hard with technicians and the Business Development team, we look to deliver successful projects to our existing and potential customers.

I have an amazing team around me and we all work hard to get the best possible outcome for us, the technicians and our clients. You get a clear idea of where you see your career progressing and the support is always there from management.
It is enlightening to see through my time in the industry to see that women are interested in entering this field. It is something that was not really discussed when I was younger as a career opportunity so seeing the number of women entering the industry is brilliant. Even off-site there are vast opportunities for women within the Operations side leading into positions in management which is very empowering to see.

Dom, Level 4 Wind Turbine Technician & Ex-forces
My time so far with Boston Energy has been superb. All of my training was first class and what surprised me the most was how friendly everyone has been, they take great interest in you and your background.
Before joining the wind sector, I was a marine for 10 years and then went to do a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Boston Energy was very quick with its recruitment process. After submitting my CV, they called me on a Wednesday, interviewed me on Thursday and I had an offer on Friday.
