Boston Energy is actively searching for an experienced Accountant to join our expanding team, primarily supporting our US & Canadian operations from our UK head office based in Beverley. This role plays a pivotal part in providing essential financial support, ensuring seamless operations across borders, and collaborating effectively with remote teams. Main responsibilities include:

  • A hands-on, strong business partner to the US Financial Controller and UK Finance Manager.
  • Manage all aspects expected of an accountant.
  • Assist with the implementation of controls and systems.
  • Produce accurate sales invoices, accounts and business information.
  • Compile all US payroll data

Major duties & additional responsibilities:

  • Supporting both the UK & US finance team
  • Preparation of monthly management reports
  • Maintaining Balance Sheet records
  • Provide monthly KPI information
  • Purchase ledger- invoice processing and credit card management
  • Manage sales tracking system
  • Credit control and assisting where necessary to resolve customer queries
  • Point of Contact for Payroll Bureaus in the USA and Canada
  • Submission of payroll data to Bureaus
  • Assist the financial controller to ensure compliance with state business registrations
  • Management and payment of taxes across North America
  • Ensure key controls & functions are developed with the changing demands of the business
  • Preparation of USA Statutory financial statements with the help of the advisors
  • Preparation and submission of sales tax returns where required
  • Undertake ad hoc projects as required by the CFO and Finance Manager.

Reports to: Finance Manager & Financial Controller (US)

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • Part to Qualified ACA/ACCA or similar
  • Maths & English GCSE: B (6+)
  • Educated to a Bachelor Degree in relevant study – desirable

Previous Experience:

  • Microsoft Dynamics experience but not essential
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience working in a financial environment would be an advantage
  • Experience working with a remote team
  • Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
