Boston Renewables are currently recruiting for an Electrical Technician (solar PV) for a permanent position based at our Head Office in Beverley, East Yorkshire.

Responsibilities include: 

• Provision of electrical installation, repair, fault diagnosis and testing services for solar pv arrays
• Carrying out pre-contract site surveys
• Providing technical advice for grid connection enquiries to Distribution Network Operators
• Designing mechanical and electrical elements of solar pv installations
• Preparing equipment lists, liaising with product suppliers and ordering goods
• Use of purchase order system
• Co-ordination of provision of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Site Files
• Project planning and installation delivery logistics

Reports to:

• Managing Director, Boston Renewables

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

• GCSE (or equivalent) ‘C’ grade passes in Mathematics and English
• 18th edition level 3 Requirements for Electrical Installations (or equivalent)

Desired Qualifications:

• CCNSG Safety Passport
• MEWP IPAF 3a & 3b
• Level 2 Working at Heights
• IOSH Managing Safely
• Asbestos Awareness
• Full UK driving license

Minimum Previous Experience:

• Thorough knowledge of electrical design and installation protocols of solar pv arrays
• Project delivery and site management

Other Skills:

• Good communication skills at all levels of the business
• Interdepartmental liaison
• Able to work with external parties on complex projects
