Management Accountant

Boston Energy is looking for a Management Accountant to join our Head Office team in Beverley. The position will have a focus on our American entity, Boston Energy Wind Power Services.

Major duties & responsibilities

  • Business Partner to the FC & FM and Energy Operations Team.
  • Working closely with the UK finance team so consolidated reports can be produced in a timely manner.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts & commentary.
  • Maintaining balance sheet recs & backup documentation.
  • Provide monthly KPI information.
  • Reviewing and approving sales invoices.
  • Manage sales tracking system.
  • Assisting AR function where necessary to resolve customer queries & high-level credit control.
  • Liaise with US & Canadian Accounting advisors.
  • Work closely with the payroll team to assist where necessary for state submissions & registrations.
  • Management and payment of taxes across North America with the assistance of advisors.
  • Ensure key controls & functions are developed with the changing demands of the business.
  • Preparation of USA Statutory financial statements with the assistance of the advisors.
  • Preparation and submission of sales tax returns.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects as required by the FC and CFO.

  • Flexibility and ability to prioritise own workload. There may be times when later working hours are required to attend meetings with the US team.

  • Independent thinker.

Requirements:

  • AAT qualified, part qualified ACA/ACCA up to newly qualified.
  • Microsoft Business Central experience ideal but not essential.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience working in a financial environment would be an advantage.
