Why work for Boston Energy? From our support team at Head Office to our technicians across the world, our people tell us why they chose their career with Boston Energy

Since our conception in 2012, Boston Energy has gone from strength to strength – with projects won in new regions such as Taiwan and Denmark, and most recently being named one of Yorkshire’s Fastest Growing Companies (read more about that here!). Over the last ten years, we have supported our clients in the wind industry, thus providing a wide variety of roles for those looking to begin a career in wind energy.

But what is it like working for us? From technicians to our team at Head Office in Beverley, we asked our people why they chose us to kickstart their wind energy career.

Amy, Admin Apprentice 2021 – present

“I joined Boston Energy in June 2021 after working for an architect company in Hull. What appealed to me about the apprenticeship at Boston Energy was the story of Katie, our QSHE Manager, about how she managed to progress through the company from starting as an apprentice. It also looked like a lovely place to work (which I was right about!!). The thing I like the most about my job is the people at Boston Energy. They are lovely, friendly people and an absolute joy to work with. It is a great environment and I feel like I have all the help and support I need, whether it is college work or carrying out my role in the office.

Beckie, Operations Coordinator 2012 – present

“I first started working for Bostonair Group in 2012. We were then based in a smaller office in Beverley and there were only around 20 staff at that time. In my first role, I provided administrative support to the aviation division of the company. The thing I liked most about working for Bostonair was the small business feel, and everybody was friendly and welcoming. I still think the business has the same feeling now, even though it has expanded considerably since I started working here. I’ve always felt that the company has supported me in my decisions and professional growth and has a genuine interest in their staff and their wellbeing. Last year I had the chance to move across to the Boston Energy division and take up a new role, as Operations Coordinator leading the administration team. I enjoy working within a big team and seeing others come into the business and helping them progress. As the business changes and expands, it’s exciting to see where it will go next.”

Daniel, Offshore Team Lead 2014 – present

“I joined Boston Energy in 2014 straight out of the military REME, and over the last eight years have received regular work as well as investment in my training to help me progress further in my career. I would recommend working for Boston Energy.”

Graham, Offshore MT Technician 2017 – present

“I started out at Boston Energy in 2017 after an SGRE Technician I know had recommended them to me. Since then, I have been given plenty of regular work and support from the busy team at Head Office. What I like about working with Boston Energy is that I am a part of a large, progressive, and growing business and I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a career in the wind industry.”

Adam, Offshore CT Technician 2019 – present

“I was employed by Boston Energy straight out of the navy, and have been in continuous work for the last two years. Working here I feel at ease and secure, and the team are also really friendly. I would recommend Boston Energy to other technicians.”

Steve, Logistics and Facilities Manager 2020 – present

“I joined Boston Energy in early 2020 after serving in the British Army for 23 years. I wanted to join a company with a strong sense of purpose and a drive to make things better. I was sold on Boston by another former serviceman. Renewable energy was the sector I really wanted to explore, as I wanted to try and combine my work with something that I am passionate about and that is making the world cleaner and more sustainable for everyone now and in the future. I enjoy the diversity that my role with Boston Energy affords me, every day brings a different set of challenges and that excites me, no two days are the same. I get to travel and meet people from all sorts of backgrounds.”

Boston Energy is a family-owned business, and we all work as ‘one team’. Everyone in the business is passionate about working together to deliver the best possible service and outcomes we can to our customers.
