GWO Fire Awareness ensures delegates maintain the necessary knowledge of the hazards they may encounter within the wind industry and have the skills to control and alleviate such hazards. This course is designed to accommodate personnel working both onshore and offshore.
The course provides the knowledge, skills and confidence to competently respond in the event of an emergency on an offshore wind installation.
This training includes the experience of a realistic environment, including ‘live’ fire training to demonstrate the proper procedures to combat fire and evacuate to a safe environment.
By the end of the course, delegates of a GWO Fire Awareness training course will be able to detect smoke and identify any signs of fire and causes of fire within a wind turbine environment.
They will also be able to follow emergency escape procedures and recall contingency plans for wind turbines while knowing the correct procedures and operations for fire extinguishing with firefighting equipment.
