Health and Safety Manager

Due to expansion of our team, we are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join our team supporting our Group. As a Health and Safety Manager you will be responsible for continuously improving Health & Safety regulations for Boston Energy. You will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance, management of accreditations and the trend analysis of Health and Safety data to drive quality standards.

Responsible for:

  • Management of the Health and Safety for Boston Energy, ensuring compliance with legal, organisational, and customer requirements
  • Ensure the upkeep of the organisation ISO45001 certification.
  • Management of the H&S Team
  • Undertaking and supervising internal & external audits on the above systems.
  • Attending and presenting at Industry & client events.
  • Drive staff engagement & cultural change around H&S systems.
  • Supporting senior management with setting Policies and Processes and managing change to support the organisations strategic direction.
  • H&S Performance Monitoring for Boston Energy (review H&S data, identify trends, present to senior management, and drive the implementation of improvement measures)
  • Development & delivery of H&S training
  • Undertake site visits to carry out inspections and audits.
  • Attend customer meetings as required to ensure continued support and compliance with contractual and organisational requirements.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents.
  • Assisting competitive bid processes with H&S related content
  • Maintain robust systems in accordance with the legislative and commercial requirements of our organisations.

Reports to: Operations Director

What you will need:

A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
  • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor

Desired Educational Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Diploma
  • Training Qualification
  • Educated to Degree Level or equivalent.

Minimum Previous Experience:

  • 2 years in a similar role

Other Skills:

  • Must be able to demonstrate detail and logical thinking skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills up and down the business and with clients throughout the UK and Europe
  • Must have a flexible can-do attitude and be adaptable to working in a fast moving business
  • Must be prepared to travel particularly throughout the UK and Europe and occasionally this may be at short notice
  • Previous knowledge of the Wind Energy Sector, Offshore Sector will be advantageous
  • Must be able to demonstrate creative thinking and problem solving skills
