Health and Safety Officer

To work with the QSHE Team to support the ongoing management of the Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems for Boston Energy including ensuring continuing legal compliance, management of accreditations and recording & monitoring of QSHE data to support the continual improvement of the organisation.

Responsible for:

  • Creating & reviewing risk assessments
  • Investigating Accidents & Incidents
  •  Internal audits
  • Site Inspections
  • Client & Technician Engagement
  • Legal compliance evaluation & monitoring
  • Policy & procedure updates
  • Collation, reporting & analysis of QHSE data to identify areas of improvement
  • Development & delivery of Toolbox talks, safety alerts and general communications
  • Delivery of new starter induction & refresher training
  • Document control & system compliance monitoring
  • Subcontractor & Supplier monitoring & review
  • Supporting operational team with QHSE requirements

Reports to: QSHE Manager

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

  • GCSE grade A-C / 9-4 in Mathematics & English

Minimum Qualification requirements:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety Management
  • Auditing Qualification

Preferred Previous Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role, or has worked within the wind industry
  • Knowledge of ISO standards 9001,14001,45001, and GWO standards is beneficial

Other Skills:

  • Must have excellent communication both written and verbal
  • Must pay attention to detail and high quality of work
  • Knowledge of Plan, Do Check, Act principles
  • Must be able to demonstrate creative thinking and problem-solving skills

Must have a flexible can-do attitude and be adaptable to working is a fast-moving business

Additional Comments:

  • Full UK driving licence – regular travel to client sites UK & EU will be required.
