Who are we?

We are one of the leading wind energy service providers across the world.

Working together as one team, our core purpose is to ensure that the wind industry continues to run without disruption, whether that be through maintenance of turbines, support with construction and installation, manpower provision, or ensuring all technicians are fully qualified and trained to the best quality. We operate a “one-team” philosophy in which we work as an extension of our client’s teams to deliver high-quality and safety-focused services delivered with integrity and reliability. We strive to deliver best-in-class service, whilst also supporting the communities by hiring local personnel where possible.

Why choose Boston Energy?

We ensure wherever a project is delivered we always consider investing in local talent and we always strive to provide a percentage of our project team of technicians that live around that area if at all possible. This ensures the local economy in our areas of operation is supported through the provision of jobs and opportunities. Our investment in talent creates a local support network for projects we work on, and a high-level understanding of the culture, and expectations of each site.

Our “one team” philosophy ensures all Boston Energy’s staff, whether office-based or field-based work harmoniously together delivering high-quality service levels in a safe manner, exceeding customer expectations and meeting the requirements of our organisational culture and values. So, wherever you are in the world, the Boston Energy approach to delivering projects is the same.

Working with GE

At Dogger Bank

Dogger Bank, officially the world’s largest offshore windfarm when operational, is located between 130km and 190km off the North East Coast of England. The windfarm, once completed, will span a total of 599 km squared and will generate 1.2GW – enough to power 6 million homes.

GE were looking for suppliers to support them on the project in a multitude of areas. Boston Energy, among several other global suppliers to the wind energy industry, tendered to support the exciting new project and were awarded the onshore commissioning and completion, offshore mechanical and electrical (M&E) completion and offshore commissioning elements of the project for GE Vernova.

Our Partnership with Vensys

UK Managed Service

Our partnership with Vensys spans back to 2015, supporting them with their fleet of turbines across the UK. We initially began providing statutory inspection on all their 1.5MW turbines, which then progressed onto 2.5MW and 3.5MW as their portfolio in the UK grew. Vensys has been a leading supplier to the global wind energy for over 16 years and has over 32,000 wind turbines generating 551.8GW worldwide. In the UK their capacity is 35MW across multiple sites, totaling 19 turbines.

To the present day, Boston Energy provides Commissioning, Maintenance, and breakdown support to all Vensys turbines in the UK. Find out more about our Managed Service offering for Vensys.

Our work with Vestas

Pre-Assembly at Baltic Eagle

The Pre-Assembly of Baltic Eagle is situated on the island of Bornholm, the same site in which the Arcadis Ost turbines were constructed. However once constructed, Baltic Eagle will be around 4/5 times bigger than Arcadis Ost.

At the request of the client, our challenge was to not only retain the skilled technicians we had already sourced for the previous project, but we also had to triple our technician headcount in order to ensure the customer requirement was met for Baltic Eagle. Additionally, 3 towers from the previous project (Arcadis Ost) had yet to be completed, and so this was added to the overall workload to ensure a smooth launch of Baltic Eagle’s Pre-Assembly phase.

For this project, we were required to fill a multitude of roles, including Warehouse Supervisors, Pre-Assembly Technicians, Electricians, Foreman’s and HV Technicians.

Working with SGRE

Heavy Lift in the UK

SGRE approached Boston Energy to support the Dual Operations campaign for 2022, tasked with recruiting experience and specific skill sets to best optimise the campaign.

Boston Energy used its existing market reach to attract highly qualified and experience wind energy professionals. This included Wind Technicians, Heavy Lift Supervisors and Specialist tooling operators such as Yolk and HSBM – who were all sourced and deployed effectively. As the project developed the increased support demand led to white-collar roles such as HSE and Offshore Coordinator roles being required as part of the project support.
