At Boston Energy, we have both wind turbine technician jobs offshore and onshore operations across the UK, Europe, Asia and North America available, therefore we have plenty of opportunities available across the globe for you to get involved in.

Whether you enjoy having time off when your contract ends or prefer to keep working, we understand that every individual works differently and has different working preferences.

Our scope of work is continuously growing; as the global wind energy industry grows so does our offering to our clients across the world – meaning greater variety of global opportunities and career progression for our technicians.

For example, the UK is leading the world in the onshore wind industry, and so therefore multiple opportunities are coming up for UK Technicians who prefer to stay closer to home.

3. Full GWO Training Provided

During your time with us, if your full GWO training is due for renewal, we’ve got you covered. We supply to all technicians directly employed by Boston Energy at our purpose-built training centre in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire.

However, if you are a Wind Turbine Technician who does not currently work with us, we can still provide training! Our current course list includes:

4. Wind Turbine Technician Career Progression Investment

We are dedicated to ensuring our technicians get the best possible opportunities in the wind industry that will ultimately set them on the right path to meeting their career goals and aspirations.

If you are a Boston Energy Technician who wants to achieve the next step in your career, we encourage you to let us know! We’ve supported multiple Wind Technicians with their progression, investing over £2.5 million into technician training since 2012.

One technician who has progressed all the way from trainee to Level 5 with Boston Energy is Colby, who joined Boston Energy through our Armed Forces intake in 2017.

Colby joined us as a Trainee Technician and after working his way up to a Level 5 Maintenance Technician with Boston Energy he is well on his way to achieving his goal of becoming a Level 6 Trouble Shooter.

“I was mobilized to one of the largest offshore windfarms in the country, where I spent 7 weeks as a trainee before progressing on to become a Level 4 Technician (CT). During my time as a Level 4 I worked on high-speed bearing replacement jobs, servicing & assistant troubleshooting, before moving up to a Level 5 Competent Technician in 2022 leading services and gaining more experience and knowledge each day.”

5. Dedicated & experienced support team

Our dedicated Travel, Recruitment and Payroll teams are on hand to support you with any enquiries you may have working with Boston Energy.

This is to ensure that no matter what your query, there will be someone there with an extensive knowledge of that specific area of the business ready to help you get the answers that you need.

Furthermore, many of our office team have previous experience as working as a Wind Technician with Boston Energy, for example Head of Technical Projects and New Ventures Rob Mitchison first began his career in the wind industry with Boston Energy nearly ten years ago as an Onshore Technician working as part of our Heavy Lift campaign with Siemens. Rob’s experience as a Wind Technician has been hugely beneficial in his office-based role when it comes to understanding not just the requirements and standards of our clients but also in helping to support our current technicians during their time with us.
